Photos & Stories Policy

How we ask permission before using anyone’s photo, video, words or story.

Photos, quotes and stories help show what our programme does. But young people’s privacy and safety come first.

Our rules

  • We never take or use a photo, video, quote or story of a young person without their written permission.
  • We explain clearly where it will be used, for example our website, social media or a report.
  • Saying no is always fine, and it won’t affect anyone’s place on the programme.
  • For young people under 18, we also check with their social worker or the organisation responsible for their care.
  • We never use a young person’s surname, address, school, college or anything else that shows where they live.
  • We don’t show anyone in a way that could embarrass them or put them at risk.
  • We take photos on BYS devices only, never on personal phones, and we store them securely.
  • We ask young people not to post photos of each other without permission.

Changing your mind

You can take back your permission at any time by emailing info@brightlineyouthsupport.co.uk or telling us at a session. We will remove your photo or words from our website and social media within 5 working days. We can’t take back printed materials that have already been handed out.

Stock photos

Some photos on our website are stock photos of models. They are not young people from our programme.
